We Did It!

Thank you!

Dear Friends,

It's official: after all your hard work, your volunteering, and your unwavering optimism about the future of affordable housing in our state, Question 7 has been approved! While there are still a number of precincts left to report, Question 7 was approved by a margin of nearly 87,000 votes, 62% to 38%.

By approving this bond, you and your fellow Rhode Islanders sent a clear message to its leaders that housing will be a high priority in this state. Our goal of a more permanent funding stream will continue to be pursued vigorously; and until we reach this important goal, we will work to make Rhode Island a leader in affordable housing.

We would like to thank our campaign staff and volunteers, as well as our Executive and Campaign Committees for their tireless efforts to pass this measure. It truly could not have been done without you. We'd also like to thank the Rhode Islanders we met whose stories we were able to share throughout the campaign. Their willingness to share their stories shows us how important a safe, affordable home can be.

There is still work that lies ahead, including finding a permanent funding stream for affordable housing and educating Rhode Islanders about housing issues and the challenges many have in finding an affordable place to live. But for now, enjoy the win, and thank you again for voting Yes On 7!
