Rhode Island’s future learns today, tomorrow, and all summer long.
What does summer learning mean to Rhode Island’s future?
It means educating the Ocean State’s next generation of community leaders, business owners, and school teachers.
United Way of Rhode Island invites legislatures, advocates, donors, and all who are interested in learning more about summer learning to visit one of UWRI’s Hasbro Summer Learning Initiative (HSLI) sites.
Students can lose as much as two months of math and reading skills over the summer, but students who participated in last year’s HSLI averaged gains of 30% in math and 22% in reading. HSLI’s goal is to abolish summer learning loss for 1,100 young Rhode Islanders using a service learning-oriented, experiential curriculum with real-world applications.
Register today to experience a truly innovative learning model.
