Hardest Hit Fund Rhode Island (HHFRI) Informational Meetings
The U.S. Treasury made available $80 million that allowed Rhode Island Housing to create a new program: Hardest Hit Fund Rhode Island (HHFRI). This new fund will help prevent foreclosures by assisting homeowners unable to make their mortgage payments due to documented financial hardship such as job loss or underemployment. A series of community meetings to share information about HHFRI will take place throughout January 2011. At each presentation, a Community Outreach Specialist will explain how and where to apply for these funds; who qualifies; and what to bring to an appointment with a HUD-approved and HHFRI-certified counselor.
Below is a listing of upcoming meeting dates, times, locations and presentation language. The meetings are free, open to the public and registration is not required. Materials will be available in English and Spanish.
For more information, visit HHFRI.org; call 401-277-1500; or e-mail info@HHFRI.org. To set up a community meeting, e-mail communications@HHFRI.org or call Maria Cuesta at 401-277-1561 or Melissa Caba at 401-277-1587.
