What is Women’s Leadership Council?

Women’s Leadership Council (WLC) is a network of smart, action-oriented women giving back to Rhode Islanders.

What do I need to do to join?

Our goal is to partner philanthropy with volunteerism. Each WLC member is asked to make an annual gift of $1,000 or more to our Community Impact Fund or can designate their gift directly to the WLC. Already giving at this level? You’ll automatically receive an invitation to join.

How do I join a committee?

A committee is a great way to get further involved with the WLC. Committees meet bimonthly and are all in need of volunteers. Leadership opportunities become available throughout the year on our executive committee, membership committee, events committee, and the volunteer engagement committee. We’ll post the applications to our website as positions are vacated.

How else can I support WLC?

WLC members volunteer in classrooms and community programs, organize book drives, advocate for important issues, and attend networking and special events. WLC events and volunteer opportunities are a great way to meet like-minded women who are hands-on and committed to enhancing the lives of others.

You can also help spread the word on WLC. And don’t worry, you don’t have to go at it alone. We’ve got a social media kit all ready to go for you to get started.
