Rushie Strong-Vilane - A United Way Volunteer
Volunteer Vivian Moreno: “I don’t just wear the shirt. I live it.”
Vivian, a professional interpreter and mother of three, volunteers at one of UWRI's Volunteer Income Tax Assistance sites during tax season. She offers free assistance to low-income families filing their taxes. She specializes in Earned Income Tax Credits, which give many families additional resources every year. Because of volunteer efforts, the people she has helped in Rhode Island have been able to secure mortgages; buy new cars; and provide extras for their families.
