Children’s Book Drive
The third annual Children’s Book Drive runs from May 1 – June 13, 2014. United Way of Rhode Island and Books Are Wings, invite local businesses, community organizations, individuals and families to help foster a love of reading while encouraging children to build their own libraries at home.
Donations of new and gently used books for children of all ages (birth - teen), fiction and nonfiction, in all subject areas are welcome and may be delivered to UWRI's office at 50 Valley Street, Providence and Books Are Wings, Hope Artiste Village, 1005 Main Street, Suite 8233A, Pawtucket. Books can be dropped off on Fridays, May 2 through June 13, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.
The goal of the drive is to collect 30,000 books that will be distributed to children across the state at Hasbro Summer Learning programs as well as at afterschool programs in the fall. Read more about the Hasbro Summer Learning Initiative.
