Community Impact Fund grants complement United Way of Rhode Island's longer term strategic work to reduce homelessness and expand the stock of affordable housing; improve the quality and availability of early care and out-of-school time programming and increase the earning capacity of lower income workers. All grant recipients meet rigorous community accountability standards to help ensure that our donor's investments are used wisely.

Programs selected by community volunteers for Community Impact Fund grants represent UWRI's long-term commitment to giving people a hand up, not a hand out.
