Get Involved – What is the Young Leaders Circle?
A Message from the Chair

As Chairperson of the Young Leader’s Circle (YLC) at United Way of Rhode Island, I am pleased to welcome you to YLC’s homepage. We are delighted that you are taking the opportunity to visit us through our website. For those of you familiar with the Young Leaders Circle, I know this site will remind you of your fond memories of your experiences as a member. For those of you new to YLC, you are in for a treat!
We have over 700 members from across the state who support the mission of United Way of Rhode Island. We are also interested in gaining new members who want to get involved by giving, advocating, or volunteering for United Way of Rhode Island.
Last year, YLC hosted 7 volunteer opportunities, a 6-part professional development series, 4 networking events, 3 advocacy initiatives and 3 fundraisers. Check out the events tab on the left for upcoming events.
As you can see, YLC is an affinity group of diversity, both in the work that we do and in our members. YLC is a lifestyle, join us and LIVE UNITED!
- Meghan Grady, Chair, Young Leaders Circle
United Way of Rhode Island Young Leaders Circle (YLC) consists of volunteers in their 20s, 30s, and 40s who want to GIVE, ADVOCATE and VOLUNTEER with United Way of Rhode Island (UWRI). YLC also provides professional development opportunities and works in collaboration with other young professional groups to further influence change in the community. YLC is led by a dedicated volunteer Steering Committee with support from UWRI staff. We now have over 700 members, and growing.

In collaboration with other organizations, YLC participates in various volunteer activities throughout the year including the stuffing and distribution of 15,000 backpacks to young children and a neighborhood clean-up project in Olneyville, home of UWRI.
