  1. Back Pay
    • Once the government reopens, it will take approximately 3-5 business days to process service-member pay and benefits.
  2. Coast Guard Mutual Assistance
    • Interest-free loans with a focus on the junior workforce.
      • Members with dependents: $1,000.
      • Members without dependents: $750.
    • Personnel in other paygrades may also qualify in certain circumstances.

  3. American Legion Grants
    • One-time Temporary Financial Assistance Grant.
    • Up to $1,500 per eligible household.

  4. Tuition Assistance and TSP Loans
    • Education Training Quota Management Command will continue accepting applications; however, new applications will not be processed until the government reopens.
    • Refer to ALCOAST 004/19 for TA guidance.
    • TSP allows for the suspension of loan payments when you go into nonpayment status.
    • TSP does not need documentation of your furlough at this time.
